Kenneth Leviner Kenneth Earl Leviner, 43, of Pembroke, was born May 29, 1968, to Carol Bullard and Earl Leviner. He departed this life Jan. 2, 2012.
Kenneth (A.K.A. Bulldog) was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Clyde Leviner and Desper Lee Leviner Jacobs, and his maternal grandparents, Bill and Flora Jernigan.
He is survived by his father, Earl Leviner of Pembroke; his mother, Carol Bullard of the home; two daughters, Katelin Rae Oxendine and Kara Oxendine, both of the home; three sons, Joshua Oxendine of the home, Kenneth Earl Leviner Jr. of Pembroke and Richard McNeil of Rowland; six sisters, Panell Locklear, Luvine Leviner, Carol Leviner, and Lisa Lowry, all of Pembroke, Grace Locklear of Lumberton, and Loretta Locklear of Maxton; two brothers, Dearl Leviner of Rowland and Clyde Leviner of Pembroke; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Tracie Hunt Tracie Lynn Hunt, 43, of 127 Lizzie Bell Drive, died May 16, 2012, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
She was involved in the accident and her life was lost along with her cousin, Santana Michelle Barton (Find A Grave Memorial# 90648107) on May 16, 2012.
Surviving are two daughters, Christian Chavis and Cayla Chavis, both of Lumberton; her father, James Hunt Jr. of Lumberton; a brother, Johnny Ray Hunt of Lumberton; and a sister, Demetrice Hunt Oxendine of Lumberton.
The funeral will be held at Mt. Airy Baptist Church in Lumberton, the Revs. Steven Strickland, Mike Cummings, and Adrian Hammonds officiating. Burial will follow in Lumbee Memorial Gardens.
Willie MAXTON — Willie Junior Smith, of Maxton, died recently. The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Sandy Grove Baptist in Maxton. Burial will follow in Williams Chapel AME Zion Church in Alma. The visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Jackson Funeral Home in Maxton.
Randy Smith Randy L. Smith FAYETTEVILLE — Randy L. Smith, 45, passed away Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014.
He is survived by his wife, Gina Smith; his daughters, Alyssa and Leah Smith; his stepchildren, Michael and Bianca; his mother, Mary A. Smith; his father, William E. Smith; his brothers, Eric, Dan, Kenneth-Earl, Warren and William Jr.; and his sisters, Mary-Ann, Shirlene and Gwendolyn.
Friends and family may attend the wake from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, in Covenant Love Church. Burial will be in Fayetteville Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Randy’s memory may be made to the Duke Lung Cancer foundation. Randy L. Smith, 45, of Fayetteville, NC, succumbed to lung cancer at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, February 15, 2014.
Steven PEMBROKE — Mr. Steven Allen Hunt, 46, of 213 Danielle Drive, died March 2, 2014, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Berea Baptist Church, the Revs. Chris Hunt and Hector Miray officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Lumbee Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Charlyne Jacobs Hunt of Pembroke; his mother, Carolyn H. Oxendine of Pembroke; a son, Seth Alexander Hunt of the home; a daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Hunt of Spartanburg, S.C.; a sister, Stephanie Hunt of Pembroke; a brother, James A. Oxendine and wife Summer of Pembroke; his niece, Meadow Oxendine and nephew, Garrett Hammonds, both of Pembroke; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Barty and Mary Jacobs of Lake Waccamaw; sister-in-law, Tonia Jacobs of Raleigh; a stepsister, Shelley McNeil Giangrasso of Baltimore; his brothers of Phi Sigma Nu Fraternity and sisters of Alpha Pi Omega Sorority; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.

Relena Deese PEMBROKE — Relena Jane Deese, 45, of 328 Deese Road, Pembroke, departed this life on Aug. 10, 2014, at Duke University Hospital. The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. today at Berea Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Deese family cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her father, Caswell "Toke" Deese. She is survived by her mother, Edith Rose Deese of the home; a sister, Andrena D. Scott (Renferd) of Pembroke; a brother, Caswell Coleman Deese (Betty) of Pembroke; and a host of family and friends.
Jerome McBryde Jerome McBryde, 47, of Maxton, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014.
He was an Army veteran.
Services: Funeral, 3 p.m. Saturday in Wilson Presbyterian Church. Burial in the church cemetery. Viewing, 1 to 7 p.m. today at S&L Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Maxton.
Survived by: Wife, Sharetta Steele; son, Bryce Steele; mother, Ola Mae; brothers, Daniel, Carl, Clyde Johnson, Hubert and Malcolm; sisters, Delores Moore and Vivian Reid.
